Consultant Obstetrician-Gynaecologist at M.P. Shah Hospital

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out patient assessment and care – Will undertake treatment, stabilization and other specialized procedures in order to provide preventive and curative services as per the hospital protocols whilst promoting patient centricity. The role will involve providing clinical support including resuscitation, admission, treatment, discharge or referral to the appropriate consultants and units to promote multidisciplinary care.
• Contribute to the departmental clinical quality initiatives – including participating in regular clinical audit, review of patient care (including but not limited to length of patient stay, mortality and morbidity reviews, regular clinical meetings) to ensure quality to services provided to patients.
• Participation in patient safety interventions – by assisting in implementing the quality improvement dedicated to patient safety activities. This will also entail reviewing patient complaints and ensure a satisfactory resolution thereof with proper corrective and preventive action.
• Participating in Research and Development- Will be involved in research and development initiatives and create awareness to facilitate patient care.

Qualifications & Requirements.

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Medicine (MMed) or equivalent qualification in field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology from a recognized institution.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Bachelors in Surgery from a recognized institution is mandatory.
• Must have valid membership and hold a valid practicing license in the relevant field from Board.
• A minimum of 5 years working experience the health care sector or a related field.
• Fellowship or equivalent in an obstetrics and gynaecology subspecialty will be added advantage.
