    Departmental Coordinator - Information and Communication Technology Management)

    Job Objective

    To provide effective administrative and academic coordination within the department by supporting the implementation of academic programmes, managing student-related processes, and ensuring smooth execution of departmental activities in alignment with the University's operational and quality standards. Reporting to the Head of Department - ICT & Engineering.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Monitoring class attendance of both staff and students in Nairobi City Campus. 
    • Creation of classes in the system and workload allocation. 
    • Overseeing examinations and processing of examination marks. 
    • Taking disciplinary action related to class attendance. 
    • Follow up on Zetech Digital School audit reports and prepare departmental action item checklists. 
    • Overseeing end-to-end industrial attachment and semesterly students projects. 
    • Assisting in preparing and managing the departmental examination invigilation timetable. 
    • Handling escalated examination issues from Departmental Administrators. 
    • Providing secretarial support in departmental academic meetings, such as examination moderation. 
    • Coordinating student mentorship and academic advisory activities. 
    • Coordinating academic trips. 
    • Liaising with technicians and lecturers on the operation of kitchens, workshops, and related facilities. 
    • Reporting on assigned areas. 

    Qualification and experience

    • Holds a Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Education Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Information Technology, Data Science and Analytics or other related field from an accredited University. 
    • Holds a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Education Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Information Technology, Data Science and Analytics or other related field from an accredited University. 
    • Registered or registrable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral Degree qualification and progressing. 
    • At least 3 years post-qualification work experience. 
    • Demonstrable people management skills is an added advantage. 
    • Must have demonstrated university-level teaching and research experience. 
    • Be registered or registerable with a relevant professional body. 
    • Capable of working independently and committed to working collaboratively with a range of colleagues from across the university.
