    Electrical/Electronic Technician III

    REF  NO: KIMC/ET/6/05/2025 

    Job Description 

    • This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the  supervision of a senior officer. 

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:- 

    • Undertaking electrical works; 
    • Offering technical support for studio-based training; 
    • Maintain lighting, sound and projectors in theatres and studios; 
    • Ensuring the observance of electrical precautions to minimize accidents at the workplace; 
    • Testing the functionality of equipment before commissioning; 
    • Monitor the Institute's broadcasting facilities to ensure they are functioning as required; (vii) Determine equipment specifications for television and radio studios, animation and  computer labs to facilitate procurement of appropriate equipment for use; 
    • Preparing work schedules for installation and maintenance of equipment; and 
    • Drafting maintenance reports. 

    Person Specifications 

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: 

    • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer  Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution; and 
    • Certificate in computer application skills. 

    Terms of Service 

    • The successful candidate will be on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service. The  Minimum basic salary for this position will range from Kshs. 36,444 Kshs. 48,935/- per  month exclusive of allowances.

    • Clearance certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
