    Engineering Trainer

    About this role

    The job holder is responsible for supporting Mechanical/Mechatronic and/or Electrical engineering (technical) training, design and production within the Company.

    Key responsibilities

    • Assess training needs and certification requirements
    • Create instructor materials including but not limited to: course outlines, background material, instructional materials, training aids, and training schedules
    • Deploy training to training participants
    • Conduct presentations and/or webinars to support remote learning and/or meetings
    • Assist in the design of computer-based and multimedia curriculum
    • Ensure the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course life cycle to ensure excellent end-use experience
    • Manage the training program in accordance with business needs, training curriculum and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
    • Plan and direct classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences and workshops
    • Any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor

    Key qualifications

    • Demonstrable experience in some or all of the below mentioned areas
      • Workplace safety and procedures
      • Workshop technology (fabrication and finishing)
      • Welding
      • CNC machine operation
      • Mechanical Computer Aided Design (CAD)
      • Human Centred Design (HCD)
    • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
    • Ability to perform related functions, including but not limited to:
      • understanding and following directions
      • reading and comprehension of schematic diagrams and manuals
      • reading gauges
      • knowledge of verbal and physical commands
      • maintenance and cleaning equipment
    • Ability to react quickly in unexpected emergencies
    • Demonstrable oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrable project management skills
    • Kenyan citizen, or in possession of a valid Kenyan work permit
    • Membership to relevant professional bodies is an added advantage

    Key competencies

    • Ability to follow instructions and successfully complete medium to high complexity tasks
    • Ability to work in an environment with set operating standards, policies and procedures
    • Ability to quickly adopt to a fast changing work environment
    • Open to giving and receiving feedback;

    • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work collaboratively with others
