Environmental Health Safety Specialist at Seventh- Day Adventist Church

Role Description

• This is a full-time, on-site role for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist located in Nairobi. The specialist will implement and monitor safety programs, perform workplace inspections, ensure compliance with environment, health, and safety regulations, and conduct safety trainings. They will evaluate occupational risks, recommend risk mitigation strategies, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization. Collaboration with multiple departments to address and resolve issues related to workplace safety and environmental health will be a core part of the role.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Health & Safety, Workplace Safety, and Safety Training
• Experience in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) practices
• Ability to analyze workplace risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
• Strong knowledge of local and international EHS regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in creating and delivering safety training programs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA compliance, or similar qualifications are a plus
