Procuring Entity:

Girwa Radio 99.5FM is a community-based radio station serving the Nyanza Region. To enhance sustainability, reduce operational costs, and ensure uninterrupted broadcasting, the station intends to install a 30kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system with battery storage.

The system will power:

• Studio equipment
• Transmitters (including 1000W transmitter)
• Office equipment
• Lighting
• IT infrastructure
• Cooling and ventilation systems

Scope of Work

The successful bidder shall:

• Conduct site assessment (if required).
• Design a complete 30kW solar system.
• Supply all equipment.
• Deliver to Girwa Radio premises.
• Install and commission the system.
• Provide training to technical staff.
• Provide warranty and after-sales support.

Technical Specifications

Solar PV Capacity

• Minimum system size: 30kWp

• 3-phase preferred
• Total inverter capacity: 30kW (or parallel configuration)

Battery Storage

• Lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO4 preferred)
• Minimum usable storage: 60kWh (or as per load analysis)
• Minimum 6000 cycles
• 5–10 year warranty

Mounting Structure

• Aluminum or galvanized steel
• Wind resistance ≥ 120 km/h
• Roof or ground-mounted depending on sit

Protection & Safety

• DC and AC isolators
• Surge protection devices (SPD)
• Earthing system

Eligibility Requirements

Bidders must provide:

• Certificate of Incorporation
• Valid KRA PIN
• Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
• NCA/EPRA compliance (if applicable)
• At least 3 similar projects (≥20kW)
• Manufacturer authorization letter
• Audited financial statements (last 2 years)
