Finance Intern at Bioversity International

The Position Summary

• The Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT)  is seeking to recruit a Finance Intern to provide support to the Project Financial Analysis and Support (PLANS) team. The student will gain experience in recording transactions, keeping financial records, reporting, legal document management and analyzing financial information. The position will be based in Nairobi, office.

Duties and responsibilities

• Provide operational assistance to the Project Financial Analysis and Support (PLANS) team in the execution and completion of transactions, according to the established rules and procedures.
• Work closely with the Project Financial Analysis and Support Analysts to process transactions in accordance to the established procedures related to financial management of grants, financial reporting and clearance processes, grant opening and data management through the ERP.
• ​Prepare and provide supporting documentation for financial report submissions and audits.
• Complete checklists of partner financial reports.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option) or any relevant field. (3rd or 4th year students will also be considered).
• Proficiency in relevant software packages (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Knowledge of or experience with financial management software
• Strong proficiency of the English language, both written and spoken
• Good team working skills.
• ​Good problem-solving skills.
