    Foreman, Electrical

    DEPARTMENT: PLANNING - IDIQ (SEHP)

    POSITION REPORT TO: SUPERINTENDENT, ELECTRICAL

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    • Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment conforming to all local Building Codes.
    • Follows Electrical Code Manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic test equipment.
    • Performs all work in a safe and professional manner.

    DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assists and provides input to identify key success factors for the Electrical Crew.
    • Provides leadership for the creation of organizational structure and processes required to fully execute requirements of services, and is responsible for the execution of Electrical services, quality, subcontractor performance, and construction cost.
    • Evaluates Electrical service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on “to go" scope.
    • Maintains the short-range look-ahead plans and discusses all deviations.
    • Reviews and monitors cost and man-hour budget for the installation process develops equipment and tool requirement plan and reviews it.
    • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and all applicable Electrical Codes.
    • Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment; follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit while using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
    • Pulls wiring through conduit.
    • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
    • Connects wiring to electrical fixtures and power equipment using hand tools. Installs control and distribution apparatuses, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
    • Fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
    • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as multimeter, ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
    • Observes the functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
    • Ensures all electrical test equipment in use contains a current calibration certificate, and timely confirms any electrical test equipment nearing lapse of such certification is scheduled for re-certification.
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
    • Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites.
    • Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up/housekeeping activities.
    • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, and professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter, and trash in all working facilities and areas.
    • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor-provided property (e.g., including government facilities, equipment, and tools).
    • Responsible for the precise execution of Company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheets.
    • Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment.
    • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
    • Performs other duties and activities as directed.

    BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    • General knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the electrical trade.
    • Able to read and interpret drawings/schematics/blueprints, and manuals to accomplish assigned duties.
    • Must be able to read, interpret blueprints, design and follow engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
    • Must know electrical trade theory and follow the NFPA 70 - National Electrical Code (NEC).
    • Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission and project requirements.
    • Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
    • Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
    • Must have a valid country of origin driver’s license.

     JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING:

    • Any Electrician/Electrical certification/s is highly desired.

    EDUCATION:

    • Must be at least a High School, Technical, or Vocational course graduate is required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair as a Foreman, Leadman, or Supervisory capacity of various construction projects is required.

    Basic terms of the job offer.

    • Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance.
    • Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $550.00 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
    • Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
    • Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
    • Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday, will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
    • Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
    • Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
    • Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
    • Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.
    • Project Holidays: 10 paid holidays. New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, President’s Day, Philippine Independence Day, USA Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

    Other requirements

    • Your Passport must be valid for at least 12 months, with at least 6 total blank visa pages remaining.
    • Your driver’s license must be valid for at least 6 months (unless processing for a CDL-required position, which will require 12 months remaining).
    • Updated covid vaccination certificate
    • Medical exam report at a date to be advised.
