    General Manager - Talent

    About the role

    We are looking for an exceptional General Manager for Talent who will craft and implement talent strategy and operations for Sanergy Limited. The right candidate is passionate about how Talent systems and initiatives can enable Sanergy’s innovative, mission-driven business to scale.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Talent Strategy and Systems
      • Deeply understand key goals and operations across the business so that you can design Talent strategies that help business leaders achieve strategic priorities
      • Lead annual strategic planning for the Talent function, setting impactful Talent goals and measures of success that support business objectives and crafting action plans to execute against them
      • Track progress towards goals, provide updates to the leadership team, and escalate problems as necessary to ensure that Talent work stays in sync with overall business objectives
      • Build or continuously improve any necessary systems and processes to ensure that the Talent team provides an exceptional customer experience to its internal customers
    • Leadership
      • Build, develop, and lead a team of Talent professionals to own and execute on their domains across recruitment, talent development, culture, employee engagement, welfare, and Talent Operations
      • Support your team to problem solve and course correct as circumstances change, balance competing priorities, and make effective decisions to keep work moving forward towards outcomes
      • Motivate and coach your team to position themselves as strategic partners to the business, keeping them accountable for work quality, timeliness, and impact
      • Represent Talent priorities at the leadership table, proactively raising issues and making clear and persuasive cases to support your recommendations for action
    • Recruitment Systems. 
      • Support the recruitment team to continuously improve on process design, including sourcing and screening strategy to ensure Sanergy has the right talent at the right time to achieve our goals
      • Participate in designing and implementing recruitment processes for senior leadership roles as necessary
    • Talent Development. 
      • Support Talent Partners to adapt and implement talent development tools and frameworks with their internal customers, including coordinating performance reviews, learning and development opportunities and programming, leadership development, and manager skills-building
      • Culture, Engagement, & Welfare. With your team, act as the custodian of healthy culture and morale that enables employees to perform and contribute at their best, including:
      • Design and implement data-driven employee welfare and engagement initiatives
      • Monitor, analyze, and intervene when you detect risks to culture  and morale
      • Work with diverse stakeholders to ensure that interventions are prioritized and executed
      • Plan and execute events and opportunities for team members to connect with each other, leadership, and our mission
    • Talent Support
      • Support Talent Partners to be effective service providers to their internal customers at all levels
      • Ensure there is effective escalation for any issues that represent a risk to our culture and values, our business operations, and/or our legal well-being
      • Policy and Compliance
      • Provide direct support to senior leaders on labor law and compliance issues, meeting regularly to monitor and address trends and challenges in their teams and supporting them to take action on talent issues to ensure they can achieve their business goals 
    • Office & HR Operations
      • Support the Talent Operations team to provide seamless services across admin and office support functions, as well as payroll and other HR issues as necessary

    Qualifications

    1. 5+ years’ experience leading talent strategy and HR operations
    2. Experience in a manufacturing or factory context with a high degree of understanding and empathy for employees at the ‘shop floor’ level strongly preferred
    3. Experience leading and motivating teams through fast paced work environments
    4. Commercial acumen with proven ability to grasp how Talent work impacts business objectives
    5. Critical and analytical thinking skills; ability to gather and analyze relevant data to develop strategy and make rigorous decisions
    6. Highly organized with a high capacity to problem solve and establish priorities for self and team
    7. Demonstrated passion for the organization’s mission, values and customers
    8. Excited about driving impact at scale and portfolio growth
    9. Impeccable integrity and ethics
