HDP Nexus Specialist at UNDP

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

•  Master’s degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy or other relevant fields.
•  A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in a related field with 2 additional years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

•  Minimum 7 years (Master's degree) or 9 years (Bachelor's degree) of relevant experience at the national or international level
•  experience in multi-stakeholder coordination, analysis, planning and programming and positions of increasing responsibility in developing recovery and peacebuilding plans or strategies, humanitarian coordination including in fragile or crisis contexts
•  Proven experience of advisory services on the HDP Nexus
•  Demonstrated experience to provide effective and coherent responses in humanitarian, development, and/or crisis settings.
•  Proven track record of designing conflict sensitive responses and integrating gender perspectives and ensuring equal participation of women and men in all areas of work, and accountability to affected populations.
•  Experience in program and project design, execution, financing and resource mobilization will be considered as an asset.
•  Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth studies and formulate conclusions and recommendations. Ability to relate the issues and perspectives of humanitarian, development and peace affairs, including gender issues, to political, economic and social development programmes;

Language requirements

•  Proficiency in oral and written English.
•  Knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic will be desirable.
