    Health and Safety Officer

    About the job

    • Our client an leading engineering company is seeking to hire an Health and Safety officer who will be responsible for :
    • Implement work procedure and standards to enhance efficiency and improve service quality on-site.
    • Works closely with the Group QHSE Representatives and makes sure all procedures are properly communicated, understood, and implemented.
    • Conducts on-site HSE orientation and initiatives tips for employees based on (EHS Alerts, Observations)
    • Attends on-site meetings with client and QHSE Representatives.
    • Implements on-site environmental awareness, procedures and proper segregation of waste on site.
    • Implements and revises regularly the safety instructions, guidelines, procedures, and work methodologies based on nature of works.
    • Monitoring plant operations to ensure compliance with government regulations on HSE and implement accident-prevention and environmental impact activities on site.
    • Generate Reports and submits them to Group QHSE on the performance and suggest improvement when needed.
    • Distribute and keep updates records of safety equipment’s and signages on site.
    • Promote and champion key initiatives to improve HSE performance across the site.
    • Ensuring that employees are trained in proper safety practices and procedures, including emergency response protocols and evacuation.
    • Conduct incident and accident investigations, including but not limited to investigating, making initial recommendations and putting measures in place to prevent reoccurrence.
    • Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs i.e. inspections, audits and trainings.
    • Keep HSE statistical records, such as incidents, near-misses and complaints on site.
    • Act as Emergency coordinator on site.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

    • 2-3 years of relative work experience preferably in sewer works.
    • An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning.
    • Ability to communicate in written and oral formats with tact.
    • Excellent public presentation and communication skills.
    • Support the credibility of Health, Safety and Environmental function within the Site.
