    Hesabika Project Officer

    Responsibilities:
    Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for research and disability data in the Hesabika project, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Coordinate project activities, timelines, and resources effectively.

    Research Design and Execution:

    • Design research studies and surveys focused on disability issues, ensuring ethical considerations and inclusivity using the Hesabika platform.
    • Oversee the execution of research activities, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation on Hesabika.

    Disability Data Collection and Management:

    • Develop and implement robust methodologies for disability data collection on the Hesabika platform, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and inclusivity
    • Strengthen systems for the effective management, storage, and security of disability-related data on the Hesabika USSD platform

    Capacity Building:

    • Conduct training sessions for other project staff and relevant stakeholders on research methodologies and disability-inclusive data collection practices using lessons learnt from the Hesabika platform.
    • Foster a culture of research and data-driven decision-making within the organization.

    Collaboration and Networking:

    • Establish and maintain partnerships with county governments, research institutions, disability organizations, and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with external partners to leverage resources and expertise in the field.

    Accessibility and Ethical Standards:

    • Ensure that all research and data collection activities adhere to ethical standards and respect the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities.
    • Implement measures to make research processes and findings accessible to diverse audiences.
    • Ensure adherence to the Data Protection Act and policy framework.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework for research and disability data within the Hesabika project
    • Regularly assess the impact and effectiveness of research initiatives and data collection efforts.
    • Coordinate Data cleaning and validation processes internally.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed documentation of research methodologies, data collection processes, and findings.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, public health, disability studies).
    • Proven experience in using technology (USSD) to design and conduct research, particularly in the context of disability and sexual reproductive health rights
    • Knowledge of the local Kenyan Context and working with women with disabilities
    • In-depth knowledge of disability rights, inclusion, and ethical research practices.
    • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
