Independent Non – Executive Directors at Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC)

The Roles

We are looking to fill two Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) positions. The INEDs will provide objective, impartial and independent oversight, strategic guidance, and constructive challenge to the executivemanagement and board to safeguard stakeholders’ interests, enhance board effectiveness, and contribute to the strategic direction and sound management of KCV.

Appointment and Tenure

   The appointments will be for a six-year period (two terms of three years each) and will be subject to clearance by the Capital Markets Authority.

Required Experience and Skill

• Board/senior advisory experience preferably in the investment, finance or sustainability sectors.
• Experience in private equity, impact investing, fund management or climate policy is highly valued.
• Strength in stakeholder engagement and advocacy in the in the development finance community.
• Fundraising experience, desired.

Additional specific to INED1:

• A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), in good standing with ICPAK.

Additional specific to INED2:

• Climate and Sustainability Expertise: In – depth knowledge of climate science, environmental impact assessment, sustainability trends, and climate policy.
• Climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainability reporting standards.
• Experience in Development Finance, desired.
• Brand Development experience, desired.
