    JENA Program Coordinator

    Objectives

    1. Contribute to the overarching values, priorities, and goals of JENA to support recovery in sub-Saharan Africa
    2. Highlight JENA’s work to promote human dignity and human rights as guided byCatholic Social Teaching and the Jesuit Universal Apostolic Preferences
    3. Support JENAmember organisations (MOs) in their advocacy work at national level
    4. Facilitate the functioning JENA’s Advocacy Working Groups
    5. Design and support the implementation of ENA training events
    6. Contribute to the JENA and coordination and communication work
    7. Contributes to the design, implementation and evaluation of JENA programmes and projects

    Duties and responsibilities

    1. Support planning and coordination of JENA programmes and their activities
    2. Ensure implementation of policies and practices
    3. Monitor JENA programme and project budgets and track expenditures/transactions
    4. Handle the project related financial administration
    5. Support the JENA Advocacy and Communications Specialist to manage communications through media relations, social media etc.
    6. Help build positive relations within the team and external parties
    7. Keep all members of the team up to date with relevant project information
    8. Communicate with team members to ensure maximum efficiency
    9. Schedule and organise JENA meetings/events and maintain meeting agenda
    10. Ensure the availability of relevant technology and other tools and that they are used correctly for all operations (Like zoom, video conferencing, presentations etc.)
    11. Prepare paperwork and order material
    12. Keep updated records and create reports or proposals
    13. Support growth and programme development
    14. Create presentations, summaries and helping materials to ensure better communication and JENA-wide understanding of the programme
    15. Collect, compile, track, manage and respond to partner calls and communication
    16. Coordinate and plan travel for team members and groups including managing expense report submission
    17. Develop and review processes, documents, training materials, and procedures
    18. Conduct assessments, perform quality assurance (QA) / quality control (QC), and Pro-actively design / invent ways of qualitatively & quantitatively measuring value delivery.
    19. Technical Programme Analysis
    20. Assist in identifying requirements around research and advocacy and translate them into specific programme research and policy analysis objectives
    21. Participate in the creative development of programme concepts, programme requirements, concepts of operations, and training requirements for network members
    22. Support programmatic teams with assessments, reporting, planning, and training where need be
    23. Assist programme technical leads and managers with interacting with external audiences
    24. Identify and develop new ways of improving operational efficiency

    Desired skills and knowledge

    1. Ability to work on multiple projects which includes prioritising, tracking, attention to detail, follow-up, and follow-through to project completion
    2. Flexibility / Adaptability to work in a high energy, dynamic work environment
    3. Excellent presentation and writing skills
    4. In-depth knowledge of program management and development procedures
    5. Hands on experience in budgeting, bookkeeping, and reporting
    6. Excellent organisational and time-management skills

    10. Commitment to overall JCAM’s and JENA’s objectives
    11. Be familiar with the JCAM and JENA’s objectives and align work to achieving them.
    12. Implement other JCAM/JEO/JENA strategic objectives pertaining to communication, gender, and child protection.

    Essential
    Willingness to commit to JCAM Safeguarding Policy (available on JCAM website) and undergo a police background check.
    Desirable

    • A close knowledge of the structures of the Catholic Church

    Education / Qualifications and knowledge

    • MA Degree in relevant subject area (preferably international development, communications, economics or relevant social science) or equivalent work experience.

    Experience

    1. 5 to 10 years’ experience
    2. Experience of supporting a membership-based network, engaging organisations and individuals to work collaboratively.
    3. Experience of working with people at a distance using a range of communications platforms.
    4. Experience of project management.
    5. Experience of intranet management.
    6. Experience of working in a multicultural setting.
