Junior Graphic Designers at Vajas Manufacturers Limited

Job Purpose:

The junior graphic designers will develop concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations and ensure efficient design style, format, for print production as per the agreed timescales and customer requirement.

The person will be reporting to senior graphic designers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing and contributing ideas and interactive design artwork to the overall briefs by gathering information and data through research.
• Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and designs concepts and demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches.
• Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.
• Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to senior graphic designers.
• Working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design (CAD) or Web Design Joomla, WordPress and PHP may be an added advantage.
• Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D Max, Acrobat,
• Director, Dreamweaver and Flash.
• Ensure efficient design style, format, for print production as per agreed timescales.
• Analyse and interpret complex information in order to produce artwork, designs and a range of written material in order to deliver priorities and ensure all activities are conducted professionally.
• Provide clear and concise advice and guidance to senior graphic designers regarding production times of your designs.
• Adhere to the attached checklist on the flow of work at all times.
• Follow up on tasks assigned by the senior graphic designer as instructed.
• Immediately inform the senior graphic designers of any issues that may arise from the briefs & artwork as soon as possible after the time the task is assigned to you.
• Forward the pdf approval to the relevant person as advised by the senior graphic designers after the brief & artwork are cleared.
• Ensure the pdf sample is duly approved by the client before transferring the same to the relevant press for mass production.
• After transfer of every job for production, always confirm with the relevant recipient that the job is okay and as per customer specification before the same is produced.
• Any other duties as directed by the senior graphic designers

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in a relevant area, such as printing management, graphic arts and printing technology or graphic design.
• At least one year of experience in design (consultations, space planning and layout)
• Hands on Experience in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop Application and in Reprography work
• Hands-on experience in printing process & techniques.
• Exposure to different kinds of commercial printing.
