    Junior Programme Consultant

    • Under the direct supervision of the EATOC Program Lead, the Junior Programme Consultant will provide day-to-day administrative and logistical support to programme work in Kenya, and the region. The Junior Programme Consultant shall report directly to IDLO’s Programme Lead for the EATOC Project.

    The Junior Programme Consultant’s duties and responsibilities will include the following:

    • Provide research, administrative, coordination, and logistics support.
    • Carry out desk research on specific topics to support the development of new proposals, concept notes, briefing notes, status reports, and donor narrative reports.
    • Provide legal research and analysis on issues related to criminal justice reforms, including transnational and organized crimes and financial crimes.
    • Input, organize, and maintain project-related data and materials, project record files, technical publications, and other references.
    • Preparation of routine correspondence, announcements, meeting minutes, and reports in accordance with program needs.
    • Facilitate, in coordination with the M&E Associate, the inclusion of project results in the relevant MEL tools (including the Indicator Tracking Table), their analysis, and the development of necessary data collection and analysis tools.
    • Support the development of communication/knowledge management products.

    Job Requirements
    Education

    • A bachelor’s degree in law from a university recognised in Kenya.
    • A Post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law will be an added advantage.
    • A master’s degree in law, criminal justice or related field will be an added advantage.

    Work Experience

    • An advocate of the High Court with at least five (5) years post-admission experience.
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in criminal justice work.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the criminal justice context of the country of focus.

    Technical Competencies

    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent work ethic founded on integrity, impartiality, and confidentiality.
    • Professionalism in the process of engaging with multiple government agencies across countries.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and other relevant computer applications.
