Laboratory Technologist at Metropolitan Hospital

DESCRIPTION

Collecting and carrying out tests on patients specimen and generate accurate and timely results in line with the hospital’s policies and procedure

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Optimum utilization of reagents for cost effectiveness
• Producing timely and accurate results in line with laboratory SOPs, processes and policies.
• Real time billing all procedures to capture revenue.
• Label, collect specimens and verify the validity of all submitted samples for specimen acceptability and store as required.
• Performs Calibration, Standardization and routine preventive maintenance on Laboratory instruments with the established procedures, protocols and schedules to troubleshoot equipment and test system(s) failures.
• Peer review of tests results for accuracy and consistency, correlating results with patients’ conditions where applicable.
• Maintains Laboratory records and filing system of patient information, equipment and tests results to comply with regulations.
• Comply with all relevant safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Reconcile daily statistics and make reports
• Obtain consent and carry out pre and post Counselling on patient and refer as required.
• Ensure Superior Customer Experience to all internal and external clients

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma In Medical Laboratory
• At least 1 year  experience
