Laboratory Technologist at Pharmaplus Pharmacies

We are urgently seeking an experienced Laboratory Technologist to support facility registration and regulatory compliance while also assisting in procurement of key laboratory products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a quality-first mindset, and experience in busy hospital or diagnostic settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure facility and professional registration with relevant authorities, including KMLTTB. Coordinate procurement of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment. Implement and monitor quality systems aligned with ISO 15189 standards.
• Perform diagnostic testing in Haematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, and Parasitology
• Maintain equipment, perform calibrations, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Accurately document and report results in compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Train and mentor staff on laboratory SOPS and biosafety.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma/BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
• Registered and licensed by KMLTTB(must be in good standing).
• Minimum 5 years* post-licensure experience in a busy hospital or diagnostic laboratory.
• Experience in lab registration and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of ISO 15189, quality control, and laboratory information systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and vendor management skills.

Added Advantage

• Experience in lab start-up or expansion projects.
• Familiarity with sourcing and procurement of laboratory equipment
