Maintenance Technician at Avertis Solutions Ltd

Reporting Line: Support and Maintenance Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. To patrol the full route on daily basis to detect and report any potential risk to the cable e.g., road construction, dumping and evacuation. And propose preventive and corrective measures
2. Sensitize all third parties working along the way leave and the general public about the presence of the cable
3. Ensure all staff comply with environment, health and safety regulations
4. Ensure good relationship with the community in the respective region
5. Proper documentation and daily report writing in the provided format by the client and consistent updates on other recommended platforms.
6. Regular updates to the client as per their demands
7. Collaborate with the client's field engineer for any support, notice or approval needed
8. Supervise the activities of any contractor working along the cable route since any contractor working alongside clients cable ducts need to ensure they observe security and maintenance regulations provided by the client
9. Completion of the Pm cycle every quarter which includes manhole inspection ,desilting and repairs of ducts
10. Carrying out preventive maintenance as to the standards and requirements of the client.
11. Undertaking corrective maintenance when need arises
12. Splicing and terminations
13. Connecting new clients as requested by the client
14. Performing other assigned duties as assigned from the office

KEY COMPETENCIES

1. Degre or Diploma in Telecommunication, Electrical and electronics, IT or any other related field
2. Minimum of two years in fiber lasers testing optical and electronic components
3. CCNA/fiber optic Technician certification is an added advantage
4. Attention to detail
5. Good problem-solving skills
6. Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly
7. An ability to read technical drawings, circuit plans and circuit diagrams
8. A willingness to keep up to date with new developments in technology
9. Good customer care skills
10. The ability to work alone or as part of a team
