    Management Consultant

    Position Overview:

    The Management Consultant will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities for innovation, investment, and sector growth. They will engage with entrepreneurs and businesses to drive impactful change, build trusted relationships, and negotiate deals that unlock investment potential. Additionally, they will assess the effectiveness of different interventions and facilitate team discussions to refine strategies and approaches. A strong emphasis will be placed on fostering a collaborative and learning-driven work environment while mentoring and supporting team members.

    Responsibilities:

    • Co-develop, critique, and refine strategic initiatives to drive sectoral transformation, leveraging commercial acumen and strategic thinking in collaboration with the Programme Director, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
    • Diagnose critical challenges and opportunities within targeted sectors and design actionable solutions to capitalise on them.
    • Identify and engage with potential public and private sector partners.
    • Structure and negotiate agreements with leading companies and institutions, including facilitating investments, providing grants, or delivering technical assistance.
    • Catalyse seed capital and support the development of investment opportunities in key sectors.
    • Build and manage a network of top-tier industry experts and technical advisors.
    • Influence and maintain strong relationships with senior industry stakeholders, including business leaders and government officials.
    • Provide key insights and reflections to the Senior Management Team and Executive Board on progress, impact, and areas for strategic refinement.
    • Support program leadership and team management to foster a high-performance culture while enabling individual professional growth.

    Qualifications:

    • A bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution; a master's degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
    • Relevant experience in the private sector, including consulting, investment, private sector development, or social enterprise.
    • A strong commitment to economic transformation in East Africa.
    • Experience in commercial strategy development and execution.
    • Proficiency in financial analysis, business modeling, sector growth analysis, impact assessment, and cost-benefit analysis.
    • Demonstrated ability to broker and negotiate strategic partnerships with businesses.
    • Familiarity with impact evaluation tools and their practical application in different contexts.
    • Proven track record in managing complex projects and operational execution.
    • Strong relationship management skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
