    Manager, Accounts

    The Manager Accounts will report to the Director Corporate Services and will be responsible for all matters relating to efficient, effective and sustainable engagement and utilization of the Authorities financial resources putting in place sound financial management systems development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, formulation of financial strategies, budgeting and budgetary controls, financial reports and advising the authority on financial matters.

    Job Descriptions

    The Manager Accounts is responsible for the following:

    1. Developing and overseeing the implementation of a dynamic finance strategy that is able to deliver exemplary services and results as envisioned in the strategic
    2. plan;
    3. Develop the Authority’s budget and continuously monitor and evaluate its implementation;
    4. Giving oversight to the Authority’s financial affairs and advise the Authority on financial planning strategies and policies;
    5. Ensuring effective and efficient management of the Authority’s resources including finances and other assets and liabilities;
    6. Ensuring the provision of meaningful, accurate and timely financial and management accounts and reports to the Director General and the Board;
    7. Negotiating with banks, donors and development partners for appropriate support;
    8. Participating in the development and review of the Corporation strategic plan;
    9. Ensuring compliance with Public Financial Management Act, IPSAS and IFRS and ISO Standards and other legal and regulatory policies;
    10. Reviewing the financial plans in line with the overall strategic objectives and government performance contract;
    11. Construct and monitor reliable internal control systems;
    12. Understand and mitigate key elements of the corporation financial risk profile;
    13. Overseeing the operations of Finance & Accounting divisions.

    Person Specifications

    For appointment at this position, a candidate must have: -

    1. iAt least twelve (12) years’ work experience with at least four (4) years’ experience in Management.
    2. Masters Degree in any of the following: Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    3. Bachelors Degree in either Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    4. Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or its equivalent
    5. Membership in good standing of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
    6. Management and Leadership course will be an added advantage
    7. Proficiency in computer applications with emphasis on Financial Management Information Systems;
    8. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
