    Manager Corporate Strategy and Planning

    Job specifications

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will include but not limited to:

    • Coordinating the development, review and implementation of policies andprocedures on corporate planning, monitoring & Evaluation, quality assurance and risk management;
    • Spearheading the development and review of corporate strategic objectives and policies to ensure consistency with the National goals and plans;
    • Coordinating the development and review of the Authority’s strategic plan and monitor its implementation;
    • Coordinating the preparation and implementation of the Authority’s performance contract;
    • Coordinating the preparation and implementation of the Authority’s quality and environmental management systems through quality assurance programmes;
    • Coordinating internal and external Audits for the quality and environment management systems;
    • Developing and advising the Authority on risk control measures/technics to reduce the frequency or severity of losses and provide feedback to management;
    • Coordinating internal and external Audits for risk management systems;
    • Coordinating Monitoring and evaluation of implementation of programmes, projects, and activities;
    • Advising Management on progress made and areas of improvement;
    • Coordinating internal and external Audits for quality assurance;
    • Coordinating formulation of standard operating procedures for every directorate;
    • Coordinating risk management activities in the Authority;
    • Reviewing and presenting Board papers emanating from the department;
    • Supervising, guiding and appraising staff in the department;
    • Facilitating identification and evaluation of risks in liaison with other Directorates and Departments;
    • Evaluating execution of the approved Performance Contract through review of quarterly and annual progress reports;
    • Coordinating implementation of the Authority’s quality management systems;
    • Ensuring Monitoring and evaluation of NEMA programmes, projects and activities;
    • Ensuring implementation of NEMA Monitoring & Evaluation policy;
    • Overseeing implementation of risk management framework in the Authority.

    Requirements for appointment

    For appointment to this grade, a person must have:

    1. Bachelor’s degree any of the following fields; Economics, Statistics, Project Management, Development studies, Business Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
    2. Master’s degree in any of the following fields; Economics, Statistics, Project Management, Development studies, Business Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
    3. At least twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience in Public Service or Private Sector, four (4) of which must be in a management role;
    4. Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    5. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
    6. Proficiency in computer applications.
    7. Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.
