    Mentorship Lead and County Programs Coordinator

    • HJF is seeking a Mentorship Lead and County Programs Coordinator to provides technical assistance/mentorship to SRV Counties including Care &Treatment, HTS, PMTCT, TB, and Prevention programs. As the County Program Coordinator will provides logistical support and strategic direction to the Partners in the County across all program areas to ensure achievement of targets. The position will be responsible for effective implementation, management, and monitoring of the County Programs in delivering quality HIV services.

    • Oversee the planning, implementation and monitoring performance of the 95-95-95 working with program staff, and partners in HJFMRI SRV Counties.
    • Collaborate and network with relevant stakeholders to implementation HIV program.
    • Coordinating HIV care and treatment technical assistance and mentorship activities in HJFMRI supported counties of Bomet, Kericho, Narok and Nandi.
    • Coordinate with SRVTWG Secretariat on m onthly and quarterly reports to NASCOP on mentorship activities.
    • Coordinate MDTs in HJFMRI supported counties
    • Coordinate with SRVTWG and NASCOP on DRT approval, access and distribution of 3rdline drugs
    • Represent the region at national level
    • Oversight of NAHCC trained mentors in promoting their access to ART sites in need of their expertise in Bomet, Kericho, Narok and Nandi.
    • Coordinate dissemination of HIV treatment guidelines and other HIV updates in Bomet, Kericho, Narok and Nandi.
    • Participate in partner HIV quarterly & monthly meetings as well as clinical case review meetings and quality assurance through continuing medical education.
    • Represent the organization in County stakeholders meeting.
    • Lead mentorship in various program areas at facility level in the county.
    • Assist in routine monthly and biannually data collection
    • Interpretation of data and identification of gaps and strategies for corrective measures on various indicators.
    • Actively participate in monthly data review meetings and ensure program indicators are well documented and reported.
    • Preparation of payment spreadsheets, giving returns to the accounts office and ensuring all payments are made in good time
    • Ensuring supplies are adequate in the county e.g. registers, drugs, and stationary
    • Liaise with the program coordinator to ensure annual workplan is implemented to meet its objective
    • Give written reports on issues noted during fieldwork to supervisor for guidance and recommendation.
    • Working closely with colleagues and MOH staff to ensure the program objectives are achieved.
    • Assist County teams to develop annual work plans and budgets;

    Education And Experience

    • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
    • Master’s degree in Public Health or any other health related field will be an added advantage
    • 3 - 5yrs experience in providing HIV care and treatment in clinical settings
    • Experience in managing medium to large sized HIV Programs preferred

    Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with diverse teams
    • A good understanding of Kenya HIV context, with a clear understanding of interventions across the 95, 95, 95 cascades.
    • A good understanding of the Kenya Health Management System,
    • Great negotiation and networking skills, and clear understanding of the Government protocol and processes
    • Utmost integrity, with ability to inspire confidence, and project a good image of the organization at the county level
    • Experience in mentoring clinicians.
    • Proficiency in computer application such as Power Point, Word, MS Excel, etc.
    • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, MOH team, stakeholders and recipients of assistance.
    • Well-developed written and oral presentation skills.
    • Self-motivated, willing to learn as well as train and mentor others.
    • Good knowledge of basic data analysis, and interpretation for decision making.
