Mobile Phone Repair Technician at People FOCO

JOB PURPOSE

• Our client is seeking a skilled, reliable and customer-focused Mobile Phone Repair Technician responsible for delivering fast, accurate and high-quality smartphone repair services.
• The technician will diagnose and repair hardware and software faults across major smartphone brands while ensuring excellent customer service, proper spare-parts management, protection of customer devices and data, and compliance with Maydo’s quality standards.
• The successful candidate must combine technical expertise, speed, accuracy, integrity and strong customer service skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnosis & Repairs

• Diagnose hardware and software faults accurately on smartphones and related mobile devices.
• Repair and replace screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, speakers, microphones, buttons, connectors and other components.
• Troubleshoot software issues and perform software installations, updates and resets where required.
• Assess liquid/water-damaged devices and determine repair feasibility.
• Perform motherboard/component-level diagnosis and repairs where technically possible.
• Perform micro-soldering and connector/component replacement where required.
• Work confidently across major smartphone brands, particularly Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi/Redmi.
• Clearly identify whether a device can be repaired before unnecessary parts or costs are incurred.

Quality Control

• Test every repaired device systematically before returning it to the customer.
• Verify key functions including display, touch, charging, cameras, speakers, microphones, connectivity, buttons and other functions affected by the repair.
• Ensure repairs meet Maydo’s technical and quality standards.
• Minimize repeat repairs and customer returns through accurate diagnosis and quality workmanship.
• Immediately report any repair that cannot meet the required quality standard.

Repair Turnaround & Productivity

• Complete repairs within agreed turnaround times while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Prioritize repairs according to customer commitments and operational requirements.
• Manage multiple repair jobs efficiently.
• Inform management immediately when a repair may take longer than the timeframe communicated to the customer.

Customer Service

• Explain faults, repair requirements, pricing and expected repair timelines clearly and professionally to customers.
• Provide customers with clear information regarding the condition of their devices.
• Deliver professional, courteous and transparent customer service at all times.
• Where appropriate, recommend relevant accessories or preventive solutions that can help protect the repaired device, such as screen protectors, cases or charging accessories.
• Never recommend unnecessary repairs or products solely to increase sales.

Spare Parts, Tools & Repair Records

• Maintain accurate records of all devices received and repairs performed.
• Ensure every spare part used is recorded against the corresponding repair/job before the device is released.
• Maintain accurate records of defective or returned parts.
• Report damaged, defective, missing or low-stock spare parts promptly.
• Properly account for repair tools and equipment.
• Use repair tools, equipment and spare parts responsibly and minimize unnecessary wastage.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe repair workstation.

Customer Device & Data Protection

• Handle all customer devices with strict care and professionalism.
• Protect customer privacy and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information and data contained on customer devices.
• Do not access customer photographs, messages, accounts, files or other personal information unless access is strictly necessary for an authorized diagnostic or repair procedure.
• Never copy, transfer, disclose or retain customer data.
• Immediately report any accidental damage or incident involving a customer’s device to management.

Technical Development

• Keep up to date with new smartphone models, technologies, common faults and repair techniques.
• Continuously improve diagnostic and repair skills.
• Follow Maydo’s technical procedures and participate in product or technical training when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Certificate or Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, Mobile Phone Repair or a related technical field is preferred.
• Approximately 2 years or more of practical smartphone repair experience is preferred.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong technical ability during the practical assessment.
• Strong practical knowledge of both Android and iOS devices.
• Experience repairing multiple brands, particularly Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi/Redmi.
• Strong knowledge of hardware diagnostics and component replacement.
• Experience with motherboard diagnosis and micro-soldering is highly desirable.
• Ability to use smartphone diagnostic, repair and micro-soldering tools safely and correctly.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

PRACTICAL TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT

• Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a practical technical assessment before final selection.

The assessment may include:

• Hardware fault diagnosis
• Smartphone disassembly and reassembly
• Screen and/or battery replacement
• Charging-port or connector diagnosis
• Software troubleshooting
• Post-repair quality-control testing
• Identification and correct use of repair tools
• Micro-soldering or board-level diagnosis for candidates claiming advanced repair skills
• Final selection will be based on demonstrated practical ability, repair quality, diagnostic skills, working method and customer-service attitude — not solely on qualifications or years of experience.
