Coffey is seeking to engage a consultant for our Senior Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) for the Kenya National Police Service for a duration of 6 months to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Program
In September 2018, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced a radical and wholesale reform of the Kenya National Police Service (NPS). The Police Reform Agenda aims to improve police accountability, professionalism and improve the delivery of service to the Kenyan public. The aspiration of the Government of Kenya is to transform the NPS into a police service as opposed to police force. In 2018, the NPS introduced new and streamlined command structures at regional and county levels and devolved budget management to station-level as part of efforts to improve devolved decision making. The Kenyan Government is now able to implement the next phase of transformation of the NPS.
This programme complements other existing and planned HMG work on police reforms in the region.
The Position
The Consultant will work closely with the Team Leader and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Manager, to ensure programme activities are carried out to a high quality and efficiently per the approved programme workplan. The proposed period for this consultancy is from July 2020 to December 2020.
