    People & Culture Coordinator

    Purpose:
     
    Support the Head of People and Culture with the development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives and activities. The incumbent will be key in the implementation of our Learning and Development Strategy.
     
    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
     
    Talent management

    •  Provide guidance to the Head of People & Culture in the areas around the organisation's talent acquisition and retention, delivery of leadership/training programmes, coaching and mentoring, Compensation and Benefits management, performance management and employee relations.
    • Partner with the OD lead in rolling out of change management initiatives.
    • Support the development and implementation of WWF Kenya’s people strategy.
    • Develop, promote, communicate and implement the Health & Safety Management policies and procedures including; travel risk management, crisis/incident management, injury management, first aid and fire safety programs.
    •  Support the Head of People & Culture in the development and implementation of leadership engagement, team development and performance management initiatives with the aim of building a high performance culture.
    • Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
    • Keep abreast with changes in HR Trends, including employment and labour relation laws and regulations governing people management practices and make recommendations on best practices.
    • Work closely with budget holders to ensure the people and culture annual work plan is communicated and excellently delivered.
    • Collaborate with all staff and provide day-to-day focussed support to line managers on the performance appraisal system as required while adding value to the organisation through creative people management and relationship building. 

    Learning and Development

    • Create and execute learning strategies and programs.
    • Evaluate current and future Individual, Landscapes, Programmes, functions and Organizational Development needs.
    • Develop and implement various innovative learning methods e.g. coaching, mentoring, job shadowing, online and in-house training, self-learning etc.
    • Develop annual training plans, facilitate execution and assess its success.
    • Assist line managers develop their teams through career pathing
    • Design, develop and support relevant learning and development, coaching and mentoring programs and actions to address identified skills development needs.
    •  Provide thought leadership on training program design and delivery.
    •  Develop and track the annual L&D Budget;
    •  Provide monthly learning and development reports that covers the Training Calendar; training attendance, feedback on training programs.
    • Design and develop programs and curriculums in partnership with internal subject matter experts and/or external vendors to achieve defined training, learning and development objectives.
    •   Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of People & Culture or his/her designate.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Human Resources, Organizational Development. Possession of an MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage.
    •  A member of the Institute of Human Resources Management-Kenya (IHRM).
    • A minimum of 6 years' professional experience in Human Resources; 3 of which should be in a mid-senior position and Learning and Development.
    • Solid foundation knowledge and experience of all aspects of HR.
    • Demonstrable skills in the development of Human Resources procedures and systems preferably in the context of an international NGO.
    • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
    • Familiarity with E-Learning platforms and practices.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

    Required Skills and Competencies:

    •  Ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external clients, and focus on being service oriented.
    • Excellent advisory skills and ability to promote team synergy in a multi-cultural work environment.
    •  Excellent interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, discretion and impartiality) are essential for this position.
    • Proven people management skills with strong ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.
    • Proven experience in implementing change management and organizational development initiatives.
    • Ability to drive outcomes through influencing and networking skills.
    • Meticulous with keen attention to detail.
    • Able to identify and provide solutions which benefit the organization.
    • Positive attitude and an organized approach to work.
    • Strong leadership skills.
    • Ability to work in multi-project settings, handle multiple and competing priorities.
