    Post Of Nursing Officer Grade

    Job Specification

    • An officer at this level will be responsible to a Senior Officer and will assist in the provision of comprehensive nursing and public health services within the University College and assist in clinical supervision of nursing students.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform client assessment using recognized nursing frameworks to identify patient problems and provide patient-centered care to improve health and well being and the quality of life.
    • Provide nursing interventions in line with set goals and nursing diagnoses.
    • Monitor clients prognosis through observation and clinical assessments to guide appropriate management.
    • Evaluation of client outcomes to determine treatment continuation or referral to other health facilities.
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports on patient care and progress to ensure proper continuity of care.
    • Participate in community outreach programs such as medical camps and school health programs to promote community health and well-being.
    • Participate in national and international events such as Nurses’ Week to promote nursing recognition.
    • Administer immunizations in line with the Ministry of Health, Kenya National Immunization  Policy Guidelines.
    • Assist in Master Rotation Planning of clinical rotations for nursing students.
    • Demonstrate nursing procedures in the skills laboratory.
    • Assist in clinical supervision of nursing students in the clinical placement site.

    Person Specifications

    • Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited university.
    • Be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and hold a valid practicing license.
    • Have a minimum of three (3) years’ clinical experience in a recognized clinical setting.
    • Demonstrate diligence and high ethical standards in nursing practice.
    • Possess good communication, analytical, and report writing skills.
    • Be a team player with a proven track record of professionalism and integrity.
    • Be willing and able to work during odd hours when necessary.
    • Have a working knowledge of relevant computer applications.
    • Possession of post-basic training in Critical Care, Counseling Psychology, Mental Health, or other relevant areas will be an added advantage.

    Method of Application

    The advertised position will be on permanent and pensionable terms subject to six (6) months probation period.

    Appointed candidates will be remunerated as per the Inter Public University Councils Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) and CBA 2021- 2025 Approved Salary Rates.
