Pre/Primary School Teacher at Gede Forest School

We are seeking a pre/primary school teacher for Gede Forest School. 

Role and person specification:

• We are looking for the first pre/primary school teacher to join Gede Forest School. The successful candidate will provide play and learning opportunities to the first cohort of up to 9 children, for the first 6 months. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in curriculum development for the school, in preparation for when it expands in September 2025. 
• We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and a natural leader, has a passion for nature and is enthusiastic about outdoor teaching and play. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons and play sessions on different topics and themes
• Assessing and providing feedback on child progress
• Responsible for welfare of the children, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment
• Responsible for keeping the teaching area and equipment tidy
• Line management of teaching assistants and helpers

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education Degree, Diploma in Education, or Diploma in Primary Education
• Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration number
• At least 3 year’s experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• IT, record keeping and report writing skills
• Good knowledge of preschool curriculum
• Open, honest and trustworthy
• Up to date first aid qualification
