Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Analyze financial information to assist business profitability and growth
• Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
• Produce month end and year end journals in preparation for periodic reports.
• Prepare statutory and management accounts and ensure compliance with all financial regulations
• Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
• Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations.
• Analyzing manufacturing/production operations, equipment availability and utilization and recommending changes.
• Performing month-end cost accounting closure.
• Performing life cycle cost-benefit analysis.
• Overseeing annual physical inventory and analyzing inventory valuations
• Designing and implementing and maintain cost accounting systems

Minimum requirements
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, one must have:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting Economics, Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• At least eight (8) years’ relevant work experience in management accounting in a public institution or private sector three (3) of which must have been in a supervisory role.
• In depth experience and technical knowledge in Target costing, Margin analysis, Break even analysis, Constraint analysis, Trend analysis, Transaction analysis, capital budgeting analysis and Capital budget analysis.
• Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Full professional qualification in accounting e.g. ACCA, CPA or CTA.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge in computer applications.
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
