Product Development Manager at Equity Bank Kenya

Job Purpose

Responsible for design, development and delivery of digital financial services product and services and ensuring they meet customer needs, are secure and conform to regulatory requirements. The role bridges business needs with technical execution by managing API’s, digital financial services platform, Mini apps and supports coordination across cross-functional teams and external partners. The role is responsible for ensuring that new products, innovations and enhancements are identified, developed, tested and delivered on time across our ecosystem (both internally and externally).

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept, design, development, testing, deployment to post-launch support.
• Translate product requirements into technical specifications and development roadmaps.
• Lead technical teams in developing API.s, Integrations and mini-app solutions for digital financial Platforms
• Ensure roadmap delivery of Digital Financial Services Platform
• Act as a bridge between business, technology and operations team to ensure seamless product execution
• Enforce quality standards for UAT, regression and performance testing for all digital financial services solutions
• Implement controls around fraud, system downtime across all solutions
• Drive new innovations through new features and or through configurations
• Continuous product improvement based on customer feedback

Skills

• Strong Technical and analytical skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Deep understanding of Fintech platforms, digital financial services platforms (payments, integrated credit, Mini apps, mobile apps, USSD, STK)
• Hands-on experience in API management, versioning, and integration to third parties
• Experience in stakeholder management and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage complex relationships and multiple vendors.
• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple partners and vendors
• Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance
• Team management skills
• Critical thinker with innovative mindset.

Education

• University Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related Field
• Masters will be an added advantage
• 8+ years of experience in product development, technology, delivery in a fintech or digital financial services.
