    Programme Officer Global Labour Programme

    Sightsavers are recruiting a Programme Officer to support the Global Labour Programme. (GLP) Managing activities and relationships with key stakeholders; planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating each stage using best practice to meet expected standards.

    About the role

    1. Working closely with the Chief of Party and senior team members to coordinate implementation of activities
    2. Liaising with the Global Technical Leads, participating in the design and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework
    3. Advocacy around the programme’s goals and the GLP consortium’s work
    4. Building strong relationships and supporting partners throughout the programme lifecycle to close out, promoting shared learning
    5. Supporting programme partners with budget and forecast preparation, monitoring expenditure of financial resources
    6. Providing appropriate materials and information for the GLP Management Unit in Kenya to utilise for donor reporting requirements
    7. Participating in all PR activities promoting disability inclusive employment

    Job holder requirements

    Essential:

    1. A tertiary degree or above OR equivalent qualification in Social Sciences/Education/Development Studies/Public Health/Agriculture
    2. Able to showcase experience with labour market issues, including assessments, skills training, disability inclusion
    3. A track record of implementing programmes within the disability sector and gender mainstreaming
    4. Experience in agribusiness based interventions working with relevant Ministry of Agriculture departments
    5. Experience working with devolved County Government departments
    6. Experienced providing technical assistance to other organisations
    7. Working experience of designing data capture strategies and analysing data using MS Excel
    8. Strong communication, IT skills
    9. Able to travel to project sites in Nairobi, Kisumu and Homabay as required

    Desirable:

    1. Previous experience with a USAID funded programme
    2. Familiar with national legislation covering disability, human rights and employment
    3. Advocacy work for social inclusion/disability programmes
    4. Knowledgeable on current issues and best practice regarding disability, UNCRPD, SDG’s
