Quality Control / Laboratory Supervisor (Vegetable Oil Extraction Plant) at WTS Energy

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor / Laboratory Technician Supervisor to oversee quality assurance and control within the vegetable oil extraction plant. This role involves supervising laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards, and providing data-driven insights to optimize product quality. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field and 7–10 years of experience in quality control or laboratory supervision within a vegetable oil extraction plant, biofuels, or oil & gas refinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely testing of raw materials and finished products.
• Oversee the collection, testing, and evaluation of samples to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Conduct trend analysis and correlate laboratory data with process parameters to identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP/ALCOA+), and HSEQ regulations.
• Manage laboratory safety protocols, including chemical handling and regulatory compliance.
• Act as the primary interface between quality control, production, and maintenance teams, ensuring alignment on quality and process improvements.
• Prepare detailed reports on quality performance, non-conformance trends, and corrective actions.
• Supervise and train laboratory staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and inventory of laboratory equipment, reagents, and chemicals.
• Support plant commissioning, start-up, and maintenance operations related to quality control.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards in quality and safety.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in quality control or laboratory supervision within a vegetable oil extraction plant, biofuels, or oil & gas refinery.
• Expertise in chemical analysis, laboratory techniques, and quality assurance systems.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards, TQM, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in trend analysis, data correlation, and process improvement.
• Proven ability to lead teams, train staff, and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Familiarity with HSEQ regulations, including firefighting and safety protocols (preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in laboratory management systems and computer applications.
