    Quality Process & Development Manager

    Position Summary:

    • This position reports to the Cluster Managing Director and shall be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
    • The fundamental role of the Cluster Quality Process and Strategic Projects Manager is to lead optimization projects, drive compliance to the group processes and procedures as well as manage, coordinate and follow up all the strategic projects within the East Africa cluster in compliance with allocated budget and resources.
    • In the execution of this role, the Cluster Quality Process and Strategic Projects Manager shall be called upon to be the face of the company with various government and industry stakeholders within the cluster and will be required to drive the companies’ agenda with each of these entities while protecting the organization’s interests.

    Mission & Responsibilities:

    Management of Cluster Processes:

    In coordination with the Regional office as well as the Head office:

    • Promote and drive the implementation and alignment of the standard operating organization model within all agencies in EAF cluster, by building the business processes, tools, and creating a process-minded and tools-minded way of working and thinking thereby achieving performances that are in line with the group’s expectations.
    • Drive, coordinate & facilitate system deployment projects in the region ensuring on-time deployment and successful implementation. Such projects shall include, and not limited to, studies of local processes, applications, business needs, regulations, gaps, problem resolution, facilitation, and training coordination.
    • Manage alignment, implementation and promotion of the Group standard organization, processes, and tools for the Agencies in the Region as per Group’s methodology and strategy (CORE MODEL ALIGNMENT), recommend organizational and process changes, aimed at streamlined and harmonized processes, resilient organizations, efficient tools, improved performances and outstanding customer service (SSC transitions, Cluster formations, APL integration, SAPHIR deployments).
    • Be the lead in identification, scoping, project planning and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities in EAF agencies in accordance with Group’s Business Improvement methodology and strategy to achieve goals, make organizations more efficient and resilient.
    • Perform support functions for the Agencies in the Region (escalations, access validations, IT profile requests, workarounds, best practices, requests for enhancements & services, facilitate user acceptance tests, deployments, review business processes) aimed at smooth and continuous business operation.

    Management of Strategic Projects:

    In coordination with the Regional Office and the Head Office:

    Identify, scope, manage and execute strategic projects which have the potential to:

    • Enhance the image of the company within the cluster
    • Unlock new business opportunities for the company
    • Provide leverage for the company
    • Advance the groups CSR objectives
    • Enhance the brand image of the company
    • Manage external relations and support the realization of corporate communication operation by checking press releases, written communication campaigns, communication operations on the web.
    • Organize events or take part in them to allow the company to work on its brand image and meet different actors – service providers, partners, consumers of products or services.
    • With support from head office and local Human Resource department, assist to develop a CSR policy and inculcate culture that respects the environment, ethics and societal issues.

    Implement the sustainable development policy of CMA CGM group by:

    • Formulating the levers that guarantee its proper application
    • Focusing on activities that are geared towards sustainable development.
    • Knowing perfectly the cogs and obligations of the group.
    • Following the evolution of the standards and regulations in force
    • Adapting the actions and methods of the company so that they comply with the regulations in force
    • Conducting field studies on processes in all departments of the companies in cluster
    • Understanding the motivations and expectations of each (company, surrounding society) before establishing a diagnosis on the areas of improvement in the short, medium and long term.
    • Writing reports: drawing up an inventory and make suggestions
    • Anticipating and finding new solutions in order to best integrate its action plan into the group's business.

    Management of Government Relations:

    • In collaboration with legal department, research, monitor and report on government activities that could affect the companies’ business and clients.
    • Assist management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential activities related to the business and industry.
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with government officials, government entities and agencies.
    • Participate in relevant industry associations and committees and seek leadership roles for self and for team members.
    • Introduce legislative and policy changes that will support company relations in various agencies.
    • Ensure that the responsibilities under this role are carried out with utmost diligence and integrity.

    • Good knowledge and ability to understand CSR and sustainable development issues, curiosity and dynamism regarding these issues
