Job Summary

The Biopsychosocial Determinants of Resilient Aging in Kenya (BRAIN-RESILIENCE-KENYA Project), a three-year Wellcome Leap funded project is seeking a Research Associate. The successful candidate will support in supervision, data curation, cleaning, analysis, and report generation for BMI’s research activities. The role will also entail recruiting participants for Focused Group Discussions, Key informant interviews, in-depth interviews and mobilizing community stakeholders for meetings.

 Responsibilities

• Ensure all tools required in the project are developed in time, and translated/adapted when necessary;
• Support and also participate in data collection;
• Support in data management and storage of data while maintaining confidentiality;
• Schedule meetings with community organizations and other stakeholders;
• Provide monthly report to the PI of the project;
• Assist in conducting literature reviews and generating manuscripts.
• Supervise research assistant (s) working in the project.

Requirements

• Completed or in final year of completing Master’s degree in any of the following areas: Sociology, Anthropology, Demography, Social work, or related discipline;
• Experience managing projects;
• Experience supervising research staff;
• Experience working with community stakeholders and NGO’s is an asset;
• Experience with both qualitative and quantitative data collection strategies; and
• Previous experience in transcriptions and research tool translations.
