Reporting Supervisor: Internal Audit And Security Manager

Job Purpose: The primary job function of the Security Officer is theft prevention, recording daily events and illegal activity, and protecting the safety of others.

Security Officer may also be required to detain individuals until law enforcement arrives.

Scope of Service

Category 1 – Retail Store Duties [4 Openings]

• Monitors all incoming and outgoing goods and other items.
• Ensures that all customers who purchase are issued with a system processed receipt
• Acts as a deterrent to shoplifters and other acts of crime
• Acts as a deterrent to theft and misappropriation by staff of property, product, cash, etc.
• Ensures compliance with all security and safety procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance
• Search of staff bags/luggage at the start and end of day

Category 2 – Head office entrance [2 Openings – 1 Day and 1 Night]

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Ensure log in of all employees and visitors
• Conduct bag searches of employees and visitors coming in and exiting the premises
• Act as a deterrent to acts of intruders, unruly persons and behavior and other acts of crime
• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance

Category 3 – Warehouse [2 Openings]

• Counter Checks all incoming and outgoing goods/ deliveries and other items.
• Documentation and verification of invoices.
• Monitors access into the warehouse.
• Ensures compliance with all security and safety procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance.

Other Duties

• Support the Security In Charge team in investigations and inspections as need arises
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Performance Indicators

Measurable Deliverables

• Timely incidents report to the Security In Charge 1 and Security In Charge 2
• Write incidence reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Certificate in security or security related studies
• Training in First Aid and Fire Safety

Experience

• At least 3 years work experience in a reputable security firm or attached to a reputable private company as a security officer
• Has performed security related duties in a warehouse
• Work experience in the retail industry/ company is preferable
