    Senior Financial Analyst

    About the Role

    This is a 6 month full time consultancy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing multiple financial analysis projects at the same time. They will assist the CFO to build out dashboards and financial reporting templates to support accurate, timely financial reporting on the company’s profitability, stability, liquidity and solvency. They will also research and analyze financial information to help the company make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements.

    Responsibilities

    • Produce sophisticated dashboards, financial reporting templates and analysis to help management to track trends and/ or develop strategies
    • Assemble and summarize data to structure reports on financial status and risks
    • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc) taking into account company’s goals and financial standing
    • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis
    • Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models
    • Identify trends, advise and recommend actions based on sound analysis
    • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
    • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the finance function

    Requirements

    • Available to work full time, in person for the next 6 months
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar, required
    • Professional accounting qualifications CPA (K) or ACCA, required
    • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the private sector, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership. Any experience working in consulting, private equity, audit, healthcare or in a fast paced start up environment will be a distinct advantage
    • Strong understanding of Kenyan tax and labor laws
    • High levels of proficiency in Microsoft office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Experience with ERP system, required (e.g. Sage, Oracle, SAP, Quickbooks, etc)
    • Experience with ERP system implementation, ideal
    • Experience working with business intelligence tools and software is an added advantage.
    • Solid analytical skills with excellent ability to problem solve, understand business processes and optimise systems
    • Comfortable in power BI or any business intelligence tool
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
    • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations and legislation
    • Solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
    • High levels of attention to detail.
