    Senior Procurement Officer

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all procurement and supply management of health and non-health commodities for the grant
    • Ensure that procurement of health commodities and overall pharmaceutical management procedures follow relevant guidelines for health commodities management protocols and are compliant with all regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, reports, and documentation, adhering to organizational and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a consistent and uninterrupted flow of commodities necessary to achieve the KENPHIA Project’s objectives.
    • Ensure cost-effectiveness in the procurement and management of commodities (health and non-health commodities)
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering effective communication and negotiation for optimal procurement outcomes.
    • Identify potential procurement risks and challenges and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the project’s procurement processes remain efficient and compliant.
    • Identify new strategies and cost-effective approaches to improve service delivery
    • Contract Management for 3PL and other vendors
    • Plan procurements and track shipments
    • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance procurement processes, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness while complying with regulations.
    • Any other role as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Purchasing and Supply/CIPS Level 6, Master’s degree will be an added advantage
    • Member of KISM
    • Knowledge of USG procurement regulations
    • Familiarity with the Kenya Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act
    • Minimum of six (6) years relevant experience managing health supply chains on donor-funded programs, e.g. HIV, Malaria, etc., with at least three (3) years supervisory responsibility
