Shift Engineer (Mariakani) at Mabati Rolling Mills Limited (MRM)

Overall Purpose of the Position:

Responsible for Scheduling, coordination, supervision and control of Colour Coating process to ensure efficient production of coated steel coil products at the right cost, acceptable quality levels and timely delivery.

Specification

1. Oversee the Colour coating Line process, ensuring quality and cost effective production.
2. Ensure maximum utilisation of line capacity to achieve production targets.
3. Monitor priorities during planned schedules; other aspects affecting execution of the schedule and resolve
4. Ensure daily checks and fill the checklist on production parameters
5. Monitor and report equipment health to maintenance team; actively participate in finding solutions for repetitive equipment failures.
6. Work with Quality team during product complaints and implement corrective action preventive action(CAPA).
7. Monitor availability and track usage of production consumables, including control of consumption of paints, LPG, Rolls, and Power.
8. Report all incidences, participate in investigations and RCAs .
9. Manpower management this includes on the job training, team discipline, shift scheduling and overtime control.
10. Implement compliance to Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety and 5K/S activities.

Requirements

1. Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
2. Minimum 3 years experience in similar position in a busy manufacturing company
3. Knowledge in RCA methodology
4. Computer proficiency – Knowledge in ERP- SAP
5. Previous experience steel industry is and added advantage
