SSA GeoZone Finance Manager at Baker Hughes

The SSA GeoZone Finance Manager will serve as the strategic finance partner for the OFSE SSA GeoZone, providing financial leadership, operational insight, and commercial support across the region. Based in Kenya this role reports directly to the ENSC and SSA GeoZones Finance Leader and plays a critical role in driving financial performance, supporting business growth, and ensuring alignment with global OFSE priorities.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Strategic Finance Leadership 

• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance management for the SSA GeoZone 
• Partner with GeoZone leadership to drive strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and operational efficiency 
• Provide financial insights and recommendations at a country level to support decision-making and resource allocation to drive profitability.

Operational & Commercial Support 

• Support regional commercial teams with pricing strategies, deal reviews, guarantee and business model optimization aligned with tax and treasury objectives”. 
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and functional teams to drive cost control and productivity 
• Work closely with functional groups to ensure effective processes in place to mitigate country specific tax, audit related risks and recovery.
• Reduce Stranded cash both internal and external working with associated partners.  
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with internal controls 

Global Coordination & Governance 

• Align regional finance activities with global OFSE standards and segment priorities 
• Drive consistency in financial processes, tools, and reporting across the GeoZone

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)  
• Have at least 8 years of progressive experience in in finance leadership roles, ideally within industrial or energy sectors  
• Have excellent understanding of product line economics, commercial finance, and operational drivers  
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams  
• Have experience managing teams across multiple locations and working in matrixed organization 
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills 
• Have great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with teams and customers
• Have experience of leading or working with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives
• Be a good team player, enjoy collaborating and solving problems with others
