    Statutory Reporting Specialist

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Group Reporting, the position holder will be responsible for preparation of IFRS compliant financial statements, reports and ensures accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements,assist in developing and implementing new accounting and reporting pronouncements and determine the resulting financial impact,ensure integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial statements and disclosures

    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparation of Group consolidated statutory financial statements that are compliant with IFRS.
    • Preparation of statutory financial statements of subsidiary entities.
    • Preparation and submission of financial reports to regulators : CBK, CMA, CAK, and NSE.
    • Prepare supporting data for inclusion in monthly, year end and statutory reports.
    • Analyze complex financial transactions, and ensure they are recorded properly in accordance with accounting standards.
    • Ensure general compliance by providing accurate and timely financial submissions.
    • Resolve questions or issues to enable correct interpretation and recording of financial data.
    • Ensure integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial statements and disclosures.
    • Identify and initiate appropriate corrective action to prevent or address significant accounting issues.
    • Recommend appropriate accounting and reporting treatment for complex transactions.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Qualified Accountant with Honors Degree from a recognized University.
    • 5 years accounting experience in a well-run company, 3 years at a supervisory level.
    • Highly computer literate.
    • Ability to work without supervision.
    • Drive for results.
