Systems and Distribution Analyst at Kenya Airways

Brief Description        

• Design and develop custom applications as required by Revenue Management functions to improve decision-making capabilities. Will continuously enhance and upgrade system capabilities to achieve Revenue Management business objectives including the delivery of RASK. Ensure distribution costs are optimized and active participation in modern airline retailing transformation projects.

Detailed Description        

• Conduct Pricing and Revenue Management systems performance analysis and evaluation of functionalities, highlighting areas for system improvement and projected benefits.
• Work with users to analyze, recommend, and test quality enhancements of PRM tools in functions such as inventory, pricing, analytics, and distribution to ensure improved and optimal usage.
• Monitor and enforce vendor services as agreed in service level agreements for tools used within Revenue Management section.
• Liaise with IT Department and external RM System vendors to ensure the systems are integrated in the most optimal and cost-effective way.
• Helpdesk support for Altea reservations platform end user queries touching on system access permissions and functionalities. Act as the liaison with the system vendors to ensure issues reported are resolved within agreed timelines.
• Ensure accurate creation of Sales Offices in Altea Inventory system upon approval and correct access levels granted to the authorized users  for both KQ and Travel agents. Support timely Altea Business rules and Charter Flight rules updates in co-ordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Support Strategic Commercial Interline partnerships growth through System Implementation of New Codeshares and Interline Electronic Tickets (IET).
• Analyze and reconcile the Global Distribution Systems (GDS ) Invoices on monthly basis to ensure accuracy and that billing is done as per the contractual agreements.
• Prepare monthly reports and analysis on Global Distribution Systems cost performance that supports unit distribution costs reduction. Reports will highlight wasteful costs per Travel Agent and point of sale with objective of reducing the unproductive GDS costs.
• Support automation and continuous improvements of various dashboards and reports to Commercial stakeholders like the Distribution cost analysis report, Queue Managements, Altea messenger reports, etc.
• Support implementation of New Distribution Capability (NDC) and Modern Airline Retailing projects in the Company. Active participation in onboarding new partners and sellers and in the Offers and orders transformation projects.

Job Requirements        

• Bachelor’s Degree   preferably in Business domain, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Statistics.
• Minimum 2 years of job-related experience
• Knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, and Java would be preferred.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools especially Tableau or PowerBI is preferred

Additional Details        

• Good Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Powerpoint and advanced proficiency in Ms-Excel
• Good Analytical skills with ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable insights.
