Teacher of Physical Education & Sports at Rusinga Schools

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, engaging, and challenging Physical Education lessons across various key stages.
• Lead and manage sports programmes, teams, and extracurricular activities.
• Prepare and present students effectively for key assessment points in KS4 and KS5, specifically within the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) PE and BTEC PE curricula.
• Contribute to the overall development of the school's sports department and promote a culture of health and fitness.
• Mentor and inspire students to achieve their full potential in sports and academic PE.

Qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of overall teaching experience in Physical Education in an international curriculum environment.
• Registered by the Teachers Service Commission
• At least 3 years of proven leadership experience within a sports department or similar educational setting.
• Essential experience in teaching academic CIE PE and BTEC PE.
• Mandatory experience in successfully presenting students at key assessment points in KS4 and KS5.
• Demonstrable understanding of curriculum development and assessment frameworks for PE.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in developing and leading a whole school PE and Sports curriculum and its delivery and implementation for students across the age range of 3‐18 years, along with outstanding extracurricular provision.
