    Technical Officer-RAL

    Ref: TORAL/LVCT/08/2022

    Job purpose
    Reporting to the Retention, Adherence and Linkage Senior Technical Advisor, the RAL Technical Officer will support the planning and implementation of Retention, Adherence, Psychosocial support and
    Linkage interventions required for HIV care and treatment and PMTCT services in Dhibiti Project assigned areas in collaboration with the Ministry of Health in in Central Kenya. S/he will act as a resource for the Dhibiti project on all matters pertaining to community-facility referral and linkage, ART adherence and client retention in HIV service and promote the attainment of 95% viral suppression. 

    Key responsibilities 

    • Support the Sub-County teams to implement cost-effective and targeted strategies for Provide technical support to Dhibiti Project supported facilities and SCHMT in implementation of activities
    • to support adherence to treatment. Work in close collaboration with project and county technical teams to ensure that clients are supported to effectively linked to care and treatment services to minimize lost to follow up Support facility staff in providing high quality adherence counselling to clients through messaging, case management and retention in care
    • Supported health facilities in ensuring that client receive relevant HIV care and treatment services including psychosocial care, information and education
    • Collaborate with sub-county and project technical teams to develop or revise and disseminate strategies, SOPs, patient educational materials for implementing ART adherence and psychosocial
    • support in accordance with the MOH national guidelines Keep track of data concerning referrals, community facility linkage and retention in care and
    • provide guidance and advice to program officers and MOH staff Support in design and implement high quality patient-focused demand creation, adherence and retention activities for supported sites
    • Identify best practices, document, recommend, implement and disseminate effective and innovative approaches to adherence, client retention, defaulter tracing, community - facility
    • linkage and stigma reduction in supported sites Make summary reports to higher administrative levels along with recommendations to improve program performance

    Requirements 

    • Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling psychology, Social sciences or other equivalent qualifications in social sciences and/or Public Health
    • At least three (3) years project management experience working in demand creation, adherence counselling, psychosocial support and community linkages in HIV care and treatment/PMTCT. Degree in counselling psychology, social sciences; community development, or equivalent At least five (5) years project management experience working in adherence, counseling and psychosocial support and community linkages in HIV care and treatment/PMTCT
    • Familiarity with the Kenya Health system including MOH and NASCOP HIV program implementation and documentation
    • Experience in facilitation, mentoring and counseling skills Familiarity with HIV community programs and facility retention programs including peer education
    • Possess organization skills, written/verbal communication skills and capable of working in a team
    • Experience in working with diverse and dynamic team of health professionals providing integrated
    • HIV Testing, care and treatment services Proficient Computer skills (Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Power)
