    Territory Manager - East Africa, MMS

    As a Territory Manager, you will be accountable for the execution the MMS Strategy & objectives of the respective territory. It holds full accountability for the sales performance for the specific countries as determined by the MMS Business. The position provides leadership to the MMS sales /clinical/ technical services teams including dedicated as well as non-dedicated associates / all specified distributor personnel when designated as part of the team, for East Africa MMS. This key position provides close collaboration and coordination between the BD / MMS businesses as well as geographically located functions and co-ordinates all customer and distributor initiatives in the designated territory. 

    Other Key Responsibilities:-

    1. Executes all aspects of business strategy for assigned markets to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations for each financial year.
    2. Supports the implementation of go-to-market plans, Including market development initiatives, to ensure effective use of resources and capabilities.
    3. Proactively supervises the financial performance of the territory and communicates any deviations from critical project plans. Ensures implementation of any vital contingency plans and/or corrective actions to effectively mitigate potential risks.
    4. A key area of responsibility is effective distributor management and ongoing review of the distributors in the territory to ensure that we have the right distributors/ partners to execute the strategy.
    5. Distribution management including implementation of Service Max if/where applicable and capabilities of distributor sales reps with, mentor and performance management. 
    6. Collaborate with the distributor & hold partner accountable for delivery as per agreement and be the key liaison between distributor & BD Africa / EMA.
    7. Leads demand generation and pipeline management to support accurate forecasting
    8. Where applicable uses the CRM system (SFDC) to manage the sales force efficiency for the territory

    About You:-

    Incumbent has relevant tertiary education degree / equivalent. A further business qualification is an added advantage with a proven track record in managing various aspects with healthcare business.

    • Will have more than 5 years of sales, marketing and business management experience including at least 3 years with full P&L accountability- recommended
    • Builds competitive strategies and designs SMART tactical plans.
    • Fast learner who is able to quickly achieve a detailed understanding of the business opportunities for BD MMS and adapt current business model to a constantly evolving market and regulatory environment.
    • Consistently strives to achieve challenging MMS goals and objectives, can be counted on to exceed targets, and steadfastly pushes self and others for results delivery.
    • Demonstrates to effectively manage, coordinate and deploy human, and technical resources to achieve business plans.
    • Has the ability to coordinate and have good work ethic with high performance multi-functional teams
    • Works with distributor & Identifies and keeps others passionate about the most meaningful metrics that drive the business.
    • Quickly embodies and lives the BD values.
    • Ability and willingness to undertake significant travel in domestic and international on a regular basis
