    Tracking Logistics Officer

    In keeping with our current business needs, CMA CGM Kenya Head office has a vacancy for the position of Tracking Logistics Officer reporting to Cluster Logistics Manager. Applications are hereby required from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant positions. The position will be based in Nairobi and Mombasa.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collect daily on-site (depots, CFS & terminal) containers information and updates the inventory log.
    • Provides clerical and administrative support to the department (creating empties wharf-age documents (empties pre-advise) in KPA system.
    • Updates / inputs container information into computer system on a daily basis. Process Manual Tracking
    • Assists dispatchers by responding to customers’ and transporters complaints and inquiries
    • Compute repair charges invoices for each container reported damage as per equipment interchange report from depot on daily and timely basis.
    • Integrate EDI Tracking, SOC containers & track moves
    • Timely Validation of g/forms based on demurrage recovery.
    • Reviews container supplies and populates the inventory management report.
    • Schedule and execute container releases in line with the booking orders received from shippers.
    • Maintain reports of container movements on a daily basis.
    • Coordinates closely with the operation department in the management of empty evacuation and loading.
    • Follow up on long stay containers abandoned in terminal and CFSs timely and arrange destruction procedures for expired goods in line with government agencies.
    • Follow up on KPA ledger accounts disputes on weekly basis in liaisons with Finance and Operation.
    • Collect data for all containers left behind in terminal and timely roll over to next available vessel.
    • Perform any other related duties assigned by the HOD.

    The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum skills, qualifications and experience; -

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree majoring in Maritime Management or Supply Chain.
    • Basic equipment flow management
    • Basic shipping knowledge
    • Ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment and perform under pressure.
    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with senior executives and cross-functional set of colleagues.
