USAID/Somalia Facilitator for DSG Retreat at Social Impact

Scope of Work:

The assignment will be carried out by an experienced facilitator with governance, rule of law or stabilization background.  The consultant will undertake the following activities:

1. Review the USAID Somalia CDCS to apprise oneself with the mission strategic priorities
2. Meet with the DSG office chief and other team members recommended by the chief to understand the objectives of the retreat, expected outcomes, the roles of each partner.
3. Following the meeting with the DSG team, the facilitator will develop an agenda for the retreat and a facilitator’s guide to be reviewed by the COP and the DSG chief. 
4. Facilitate the retreat and team building activities

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Master's degree in law, strategic planning, internal development, or a related field.
• At least ten years' practical experience in international development in the area of democracy, governance, stabilization, rule of law or relevant field.
• Be a strategic thinker with strong analytical capacity combined with the ability to synthesize/communicate conclusions and recommendations.
• Excellent facilitation and writing skills.
• Understanding of Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) principles
• Knowledge of international development (especially USAID)
• Understanding of USAID program design, implementation, and monitoring
• Fluent English skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Ability to adapt to client requests and work with a team
• Experience with Somali programming is an added advantage
