After the amalgamation of the New Constitution in 2010, Water and Sanitation Services were devolved to the County Governments and in year 2024 the company transitioned officially to County owned by shares which makes OMWASCO fully owned by the County Government of Nyeri.
The Company’s Board of Directors are responsible for the general policy and strategic direction of the Company and provides oversight on management.
The Company is licensed by Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) to provide water and sanitation services to the residents of Nyeri South and Mukurwe-ini Sub-Counties in Nyeri County.
