    Senior BI Developer

    Job brief

    Reporting to Head Data Science, the Senior BI developer will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of new BI reports and dashboards using Power BI and other visualization tools. The employee will be working closely with data analysts, data scientists and data engineers on various projects including designing reports and dashboards that fulfil user needs.

    The role holder will be highly organised, pro-activity, and enthusiastic towards assigned projects.

    S/He will be responsible for leading a group of data analyst within the team towards the delivery of agreed business intelligence solutions.

    Responsibilities 

    • Engage internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements
    • Engages external stakeholders such as Microsoft to conduct trainings and facilitate the resolution of niche BI development issues
    • Ensure positive stakeholder engagements throughout the lifecycle of a task or project
    • Lead data analyst and oversee their developments works ensuring the data presented is accurate, meets visualization best practices and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye
    • Develop and maintain BI applications and dashboards
    • Manage administration of business intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau etc
    • Support data analyst, data scientist and data engineers, ensuring proper execution of their duties and alignment with the Company objectives.
    • Provide BI expertise and responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of the business intelligence solutions.
    • Create mockups, prototypes and develop visualization requirements by working with business teams & users
    • Work with the Data warehouse platform development team to understand the reporting sources to facilitate real-time reporting to operate in both analytical and operational capacities
    • Work with visualizing structured and unstructured data sets
    • Scale developments of BI solutions to other countries
    • Manage and support migration of objects (dimensions, measures, hierarchies, reports, workbooks, dashboards, scorecards, savings & utilization, etc) from development to production environments
    • Develop and format stored procedures in T-SQL
    • Communicate with non-technical employees to define report request and limitations
    • Ensure proper data governance and quality across all developments

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Software Engineering, Engineering, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any other related quantitative field.
    • 5-7 years experience in BI developments with a preference for the finance industry
    • Should have excellent hands-on development experience with Power BI, and Microsoft tools such as word, power point and excel
    • Should have advanced level SQL/TSQL experience and able to implement the business logic through stored procedures.
    • Skilled in handling multiple deadline driven assignments with the ability to initiate, supervise and complete projects and assignments with minimal supervision
    • A broad exposure to various Business Intelligence platforms. Position requires excellent technical and communication skills. The ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously is a requirement of this position. Very detailed oriented.
    • Willingness to learn, be open minded to new ideas and different opinions yet knowing when to stop, analyze, and reach a decision
    • Some basic knowledge of data science and data engineering is preferred
    • The candidate must also have a proven and successful experience track record of leading high-performing data analyst teams
    • Ms Office/Software: Outstanding skills in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, which will all be necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations, for senior data science management, executives, and stakeholders.
    • The candidate must also demonstrate exceptionally good skills in SQL server reporting services, analysis services, PowerBI, integration services, or any other data visualization tools.
    • Technological Savvy/Analytical Skills: Technologically adept and especially demonstrate an understanding of database and computer software.

    Team Lead IT Finance and Cost Optimization

    Job Purpose

    The objective of this role is to define and manage Information Technology and Operations Financial accounting in Equity Group.

    The strategic roles include:

    • Budget planning encompassing capital, operational expenditure, and staff costs amongst others
    • Provide budget execution related reports to stakeholders as required
    • Breaking down IT costs into defined categories e.g. consumption based (variable technology usage: Telecommunication, Data center), project based (initiatives) and infrastructure based (fixed cost: network infrastructure)
    • Identifying and Containing IT cost drivers.
    • Participate in evaluation of potential suppliers using developed and agreed criteria to support alignment and understanding of the expectations and requirements of engagement.
    • Managing software licenses to maintain the optimal number of licenses and support business requirements. Ensure that the number of licenses owned is sufficient to cover the installed software in use.
    • Develop financial models and criteria used to evaluate alternative IT investments.
    • Regularly review the overall asset base to identify ways to optimize value in line with business needs.
    • Identify assets that are critical in providing service capability.
    • Maximize their reliability and availability to support business needs.
    • Develop a model for continuous Cost optimization within the group Operation and Technology.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Monitoring 3rd party invoicing and deliverables as to contract adherence suggesting corrective actions.
    • Monitoring budget-execution levels reporting any variances to Senior management among other bank stakeholders
    • Monitoring and report on the performance of selected vendors to ensure delivery in line with contractual obligations and performance metrics set in the contracts.
    • Liaise with Procurement to ensure prompt IT Services Contracts renewal.
    • Monthly reporting on IT budget performance
    • Liaising with procurement partners to review, report on and revise contractual agreements as necessary.
    • Managing the risks, Audit and compliance items related to IT Asset management.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Masters preferred.
    • Five (5+) years’ experience in IT Financial Management role preferably in a financial services’ setting.
    • 10+ years of IT and business/industry work experience including IT Financial Management. Experience in financial services preferred.

    General Manager, Gaming

    We are looking for a data driven commercial leader who is intimate with the major global gaming suppliers, operators and market trends, understands what games, product features, and experiences resonate with various online gaming demographics and is passionate about developing Sportsbook / iGaming / Retail cross-sell.

    Objectives of this Role

    Security Systems Architect

    Core Purpose of the Job

    The Security Architect: Information Systems is responsible for delivering technical security solution designs, reference architecture designs and technical standards for Information Systems within the EQUITY Group in accordance with the enterprise security designs and enterprise business and technology architecture.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    GIS Architecture

    • Develop information security systems architectures (e.g., people, processes, technology).
    • Define systems reference architecture to manage threats, monitor implementation & compliance.
    • Assist with the refinement of EQUITY Security reference architecture and test the architecture against pilot implementations and ongoing OPCO implementations.
    • Obtain inputs and validate the EQUITY security reference architecture with key EQUITY partners.
    • Responsible for the design of systems architectures for group wide risk mitigation of key risk areas including standardized security architecture, security monitoring, and vulnerability management.

    Design architectures for specific technical solutions.

    • Collaborate closely with the Technology and Business Architecture to produce technical security solution designs.
    • Determine a holistic view of security requirements by evaluating current security operations and requirements; researching information security standards; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues and preparing cost estimates.
    • Evaluate outsourced / third-party technologies and hosting environments to ensure they provide adequate protection for the processing, transmission, and storage of EQUITY’s information.
    • Manage the development of security architectural and development standards for all components of key application stacks (OS, DB, Middleware, Web etc.).
    • Ensure a standardized and aligned approach driven from Group Information Security for security architecture across EQUITY including all Markets/ Subsidiaries.

    Budgets

    • Assist with management of divisional budgets in line with business objectives and facilitate forecasting.
    • Manage project initiative budgets in line with business objectives; and
    • Drive initiatives that will ensure that the “cost of operations” is reduced, in line with a least cost operating strategy stemming from the business drivers.

    Operational Delivery

    • Work with the Head of Enterprise Architecture to develop and implement the overall information security architecture requirements and framework, overarched by the business risk strategy.
    •  Responsible for the development and implementation of the information security architecture roll-out definition and actualization via third parties.
    • Roadmap definitions for security systems by monitoring security environment; identifying security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements.

    Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Provide guidance and leadership ensuring future focus and current efficiency.
    • Ensure skill transfer for staff development, motivation, and business continuity.
    • Identify staff training and development needs and implement necessary actions.

    Minimum & Preferred Requirements

    • Engineering/ Information Science Degree; Masters in Information Science is preferred
    • 5-9 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology (specifically security)
    • Experience in designing and implementing organization wide information security systems architecture
    • Experience in managing and implementing large scale information security projects
    • Experience working in Africa and Middle East and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
    • Advanced working understanding of the information technology environment of a bank and/or a telecom company
    • Certifications: 
      • CISSP, CISM, CGEIT certifications or equivalent.
      • Other preferred certifications are: TOGAF, SABSA

    IT Project Manager

    Job Purpose

    As an IT Project Manager, you will deliver technology solutions by managing projects throughout their full life cycle; you will lead projects related to large-scale digital initiatives for an enterprise-level organization. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering resources, generating schedules, establishing teams to fulfil initiatives; you will interface with project members, vendors, managers, executives, and stakeholders to manage risk and ensure projects are completed on time and under budget.

    Responsibilities

    • Helping find techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.

    Required Skills/ Experience

    • 7+ years of professional experience.
    • 5+ years of professional project management experience on large (budget) projects
    • PMI or PMP certification preferred.
    • Scrum master certification is a plus
    • Must demonstrate an understanding of financial services.
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
    • Demonstrated successful mastery of major components of the Project Lifecycle Development in the context of major systems implementations.
    • Demonstrated mastery on project scheduling on MS Project is a must.
    • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
    • Ability to organize and direct quality time-bound work efforts in a matrixed environment.
    • Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
