    Senior Technologist Grade DEF Department of Human Anatomy and Medical Physiology

    AD/6/80/23 – 2 POSTS: HUMAN ANATOMY- ONE (1), MEDICAL PHYSIOLOGY - ONE (1)

    • Applicants must be holders of either B.Sc. or Higher Diploma in any of the following areas: Biological or Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized learning Institution. They should have three (3) years experience as Technologist grade ABC.
    • Experience working in gross, microscopic, developmental anatomy laboratories, in a mortuary and possession of a special skill in preparation of specimens for training in surgical skills, (for Human Anatomy); computer literacy and knowledge of software data acquisition and processing in basic physiology measurements (for Medical Physiology) will be an added advantage
    • The successful candidate will among other assignments be expected to organize student practical sections in the allocated laboratory(ies); either the Human Anatomy or Medical Physiology Laboratory; participate in students projects and research activities in the allocated laboratory, Service equipment and maintain both equipment and supplies for the laboratories and respective services, participate in procurement and supervise other subordinate technical support in the department. Those allocated the human anatomy laboratory will also to organize and ensure collection and disposal of cadavers for teaching purposes.

    Senior Technologist Grade DEF, Department of Biochemistry

    • Applicants must be holders of either B.Sc. or Higher Diploma in any of the following areas: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences or pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent qualifications from a recognized learning Institution.     Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

They will also be expected to participate in Departmental, Faculty and University activities.

    Senior Lecturer - Department of Obstetrics and Gynanaecology

    • An applicant must be a holder of an earned PhD in Obstetrics and Gynanaecology or equivalent qualifications from a University recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate.
    • He/she must also havea minimum of three (3) years University teaching experience at Lecturer or Research Fellow level OR a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience in the relevant field.
    • The applicant must have supervised to completion a minimum of one (1) PhD and one (1) Masters Student OR a minimum of three (3) Masters Students. He/she must have a minimum of twenty four (24) publication points from peer reviewed journals with; a minimum of four (4) publications in refereed scholarly journals since last promotion OR a minimum of two (2) publications in refereed scholarly journals and two (2) scholarly book chapters; OR a minimum of two (2) publications in refereed scholarly journals and two (2) scholarly published teaching/lecturer modules or two (2) working, discussion or occasional papers since last promotion. He/she must have attracted research or development funds or educational resources as a Lecturer or Research Fellow since his/her last promotion. The applicant must also show evidence of community service. He/she must be registered with a relevant professional body, where applicable.
    • The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in his/her area of specialization and also participate in University, Faculty and Departmental Activities.

    Professor department of Educational Foundations

    • An applicant must be a holder of an earned PhD in Sociology of Education or equivalent degree from a University recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate.
    • He/she must have a minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience; three of which (3) are at an Associate Professor level; Supervised to completion (CUMULATIVE) a minimum of three (3) PhD and five (5) masters students; OR A minimum of two (2) PhD and nine (9) Masters Students.

    • They will also be expected to participate in Departmental, Faculty and University activities.
