KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess, diagnose, and manage paediatric patients in the outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and newborn units.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
• Manage common childhood illnesses in accordance with national treatment guidelines and hospital protocols.
• Participate in ward rounds and collaborate with consultants and other healthcare professionals in patient management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
• Higher Diploma in Paediatrics and Child Health.
• Minimum of two (2) years' post-qualification experience in paediatric practice within a busy hospital.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer safe anaesthesia for surgical, obstetric, and emergency procedures under approved clinical guidelines.
• Conduct pre-operative assessment of patients and formulate appropriate anaesthetic plans. Monitor patients before, during, and after anaesthesia, ensuring prompt management of any complications. .
• Participate in post-operative patient care and pain management.
• Perform airway management and resuscitation during emergencies
• Participate in the hospital's on-call and emergency duty roster as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

• Diploma or Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine with specialized training in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
• Experience in administering anaesthesia for general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT, and emergency procedures will be an added advantage.
